By: Matt Long

New York Finger Lakes

Since 2020 will be the summer of the road trip, this week we’re highlighting an amazing place to explore – the Finger Lakes Region of New York. Once known for slightly sweet wine and hokey attractions, today the communities surrounding the Fingers Lakes are home not only to some of the best food and wine experiences in the country, but also the best outdoor adventures. To help us better understand everything there is to see, do, eat and drink around the Finger Lakes, we’re joined by travel writer and entrepreneur Carol Cain.

You can listen to the podcast here on this page or on any of these services: iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Stitcher.

New York Finger Lakes

It took me much longer in life to finally pay a visit to the Finger Lakes region of New York than I’d care to admit. Thankfully, that oversight was corrected when a few years ago I drove up to spend some time exploring this remarkable part of the country. Long famous for its vineyards, I learned that while, yes, the Finger Lakes do have some amazing food and wine offerings, there’s also a lot more to love about visiting. Since 2020 will be the year of the road trip, I wanted to devote this week’s episode to everything there is to see, do, drink and eat in one of my favorite road trip destinations – The Finger Lakes Region of New York. To help us better understand the communities that surround these 11 lakes, I invited someone with intimate knowledge of the area to join the podcast.
