No plans to introduce gambling: Dubai Tourism chief

There is no move to legalise gambling in Dubai, despite the imminent arrival of three of the world’s most famous hotel casino brands, according to the emirate’s most senior tourism official.
The MGM Grand, the Bellagio, and as of last week Caesars Palace, are all heading for Dubai, with the latter set to open this year. They are the second and fourth largest casino companies in the world by 2017 revenues.
None of the hotels will features casinos, unlike their counterparts in Las Vegas.

Venice is to employ unprecedented crowd control measures to separate tourists from locals as the World Heritage city braces for a busy bank holiday weekend.
Tourists trying to reach the most popular landmarks – St Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge – will be diverted to visitor-only routes, away from long-suffering locals who have for years complained that their day-to-day lives are made a misery by the invasion of visitors.
Alaska Airlines doing basic fare, but with seat assignment

Alaska Airlines will introduce a basic economy option this fall, but it will not include some of the restrictions like seat selection and carry-on baggage seen in its competitors’ basic economy fares.
Passengers buying Alaska’s Saver fare will be at the end of the boarding line, as for other carrier’s basic economy fares. Alaska’s new fare also offers no chance of upgrades for elite loyalty program members and will allow no changes or cancellations, Alaska Airlines chief commercial officer Andrew Harrison said.
While seating will be restricted to the back of the aircraft, Alaska passengers will get a seat assignment upon booking.
Crystal Cruises’ First Expedition Ship to Be All Suites With Butler Service

Crystal Cruises has revealed details of the staterooms on its first expedition ship, Crystal Endeavor, which will debut in 2020. The announcement was made at Crystal’s 2018 Sales Gala, attended by the cruise line’s top travel agents.
The 200-passenger, 19,800-ton ship will feature 100 suites, all with private balconies and all with butler service. Out of the 100 total suites, 90 will be deluxe veranda suites (304 square feet), eight will be penthouse suites (457 square feet) and two will be Crystal penthouses (985 to 1,130 square feet). The larger penthouse has two bedrooms, while the smaller one-bedroom design connects to the deluxe suite next door. Tom Wolber, Crystal’s president and CEO, claims they will be the largest and most spacious suites in the expedition industry.
