The best luxury stays in Pushkar, Rajasthan, India

By: Anukrati Dosi

Famed as the home to the creator of the Universe, Lord Brahma, Pushkar is a famous Hindu pilgrimage site. It is popular for its Old World charm as well as its splendid tourist attractions. From temples to forts and heritage walks to camping and treks, Pushkar has something for every traveler.

While Pushkar is a laid-back spiritual town, it is equally renowned for its luxurious hotels and resorts. Pushkar offers an opportunity for international travelers to immerse themselves in the rich and profound culture of Rajasthan.

The following are my favorite properties in Pushkar to stay in style. The best thing about them is that they all are far away from the Pushkar market, and therefore the hustle and bustle that accompanies it. They offer the perfect base to rejuvenate after a long tiring day of temple hopping.

Naturally set in the Aravallis, these hotels and resorts are key for anyone wishing to recharge, both physically and mentally, in Pushkar.

1. Pratap Mahal

Justifying its meaning, Pratap Mahal (Mahal is a Hindi word meaning palace) is a palace turned into a heritage resort. The Taj Group has admirably preserved the heritage of this palace. This palace hotel is a place where the ethnic royal and the modern converge gracefully.

With the personalized services and a royal treatment offered in this Mughal and Rajasthani heritage style palace hotel, the guests staying at the heritage property would feel like they are leading a life of erstwhile kings and queens of India.

The guests can soak in the breath-taking view of the Aravallis surrounding the palace while swinging gently on the hammocks or sitting in their private balconies that accompany every room. Spread across a sprawling area of 6 acres, the hotel has 52 superior rooms, 24 deluxe rooms, 9 luxury suites, 2 executive suites, and 1 presidential suite, all of them finished with the finest amenities.

2. The Westin Pushkar Resort & Spa

The epitome of luxury, The Westin Pushkar Resort & Spa is a haven of wellness and renewal. The guests can choose from 18 deluxe rooms, 36 premier villas, 24 luxury villas, and 20 royal villas. All the villas feature luxury hotel amenities, plush furnishings, and a perfect elegance to embrace serenity.

The guests would find inspiration in the luxury accommodations with private plunge pools and signature heavenly beds by Westin. Additionally, they would have a chance to recharge at the fitness center or restore balance at the heavenly spa. These experiences provide just the ideal staycation experience.

There is more. The hotel offers a mini toy train ride that drives the guests around the vast property. There is also a small movie theatre inside the hotel that seats only 4 guests at a time, which means it is a private movie time.

3. Bhanwar Singh Palace

Giving a feel of the royal setting, Bhanwar Singh Palace offers an ambiance that is laid-back yet classy. The guests would feel like they are standing in a centuries-old king’s palace, which is well-guarded by the Aravalli mountains from all sides.

Bhanwar Singh Palace offers 44 royal villas and 76 royal rooms. The Rajasthani (of Rajasthan) architecture of the villas and the decorative pavilions takes the guests to another era altogether.

The hotel also boasts a gym in a small palace-like building and a swimming pool. And while relaxing in the pool, the guests cannot help but admire the Aravalli range on one side and the palace hotel on the other. Apart from providing an ideal staycation, the hotel is also quite popular as a wedding venue in Pushkar.

4. Orchard Tents and Tranquillity

Orchard Tents and Tranquillity in Pushkar is an ideal place for glamping. Spread over an area of 7-acres, there are 15 air-conditioned luxury tents set up amidst orchards of Indian gooseberries. The luxury tents, the rustic wooden furniture, and the reposeful ambiance would infuse the feel of an ideal countryside luxurious lifestyle to the guests.

While the guests can spend the mornings breathing the fresh breeze, the nights could be reserved for a bonfire.

5. Ananta Spa and Resorts

Ananta, a Sanskrit word, means limitless. As the meaning suggests, Ananta Spa and Resorts provides a panoramic view of the spectacular Aravalli Hills and lush greenery on all sides. The resort, spread across 11 acres, has 52 ultra-modern cottages, 21 sprawling rooms alongside 12 tents, and 3 tent suites, each room/ tent with state-of-the-art amenities.

The guests would have a golden chance to soak in the postcard views while spending time in the outdoor swimming pool. Other premium facilities in the hotel include a well-equipped recreational room, a fashionable spa, and a premium fitness center. There is also an activity area for the kids.
