A Museum Devoted to Wiener Dogs Just Opened in Germany

Yes, you read that correctly—the Bavarian city of Passau now has a museum that celebrates all things dachshund.
The citizens of Bavaria take pride in the traditional beer, pretzels, and sausages that come from the German state. But apparently Bavarians’ love for sausages doesn’t only include authentic wurst—it extends to another beloved (albeit less-expected) sausage-like symbol of Bavaria: the dachshund.
On April 2, the Bavarian city of Passau made a major step to commemorate that appreciation and welcomed a museum dedicated entirely to celebrating the German sausage dogs.
Marriott International Expands Middle East And Africa Portfolio

Marriott International announced ambitious growth plans for its Middle East and Africa region today, following signings for more than 30 properties and over 5,000 rooms in the last 12 months.
The signings put Marriott on track to increase its portfolio in the region to nearly 370 hotels, an increase of more than 50 percent over the next five years. This will amount to more than 80,000 rooms across 21 brands, including the introduction in the region of brands such as EDITION, Element and AC Hotels by Marriott.

Always wanted to meet celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa? Here’s your chance: The famed restaurateur will be headlining a foodie cruise in June aboard the 1,070-passenger Crystal Serenity.
Luxury line Crystal says Matsuhisa will lead cooking demonstrations and mingle with passengers starting on June 19 as Serenity sails a 12-night Baltic itinerary. He’ll also be making appearances at the ship’s Silk Road restaurant and Sushi Bar, which he designed in partnership with the line.
Southwest Airlines Gives $5000 to Passengers on Fatal Flight

Southwest Airlines Co. is providing $5,000 checks and $1,000 travel vouchers to passengers who were on a flight this week when an engine broke apart, killing a woman on board.
“We value you as our customer and hope you will allow us another opportunity to restore your confidence in Southwest,” Chief Executive Officer Gary Kelly said in a letter to the customers. “In this spirit, we are sending you a check in the amount of $5,000 to cover any of your immediate financial needs.”
The National Transportation Safety Board is trying to determine why a fan blade tore loose, shattering the CFM engine and shooting fragments at a wing and the fuselage of the Boeing Co. 737-700. Federal investigators found signs of metal fatigue where the blade broke off.
